Requirements
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide welcoming guest and team member interactions
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Strong interest in working in retail, specifically within our stores in management; leadership skills and team-oriented thinking
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to Target technology needs and participate in internship training activities
  • Ability to lead and coach team members, deliver timely performance feedback, and resolve guest issues
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information; able to respond to guest or team member issues at all areas of the building
  • Hands-on ability to operate cash register and handle cash as needed
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Must be able to scan, handle and move merchandise safely and efficiently, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 444 pounds
  • Ability to work in a safe manner, comply with safety policies, and foster an inclusive, equitable, safe and secure culture
  • Access to all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with guests and team members in a welcoming way
  • Excellent problem-solving and guest service skills
  • Understanding of retail business fundamentals and guest engagement strategies
Responsibilities
  • Spend time on the store salesfloor and backroom leading amongst team members and aligning the team on daily business priorities
  • Work alongside an Executive Team Lead mentor and other leaders to gain understanding of their roles
  • Lead daily priorities such as stocking shelves, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and helping build displays
  • Partner with leaders regarding team member performance by teaching, coaching, training, and delivering timely performance feedback
  • Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations and goal attainment
  • Lead/present at daily huddles with peer/leadership team
  • Plan daily goals and organize plans within the building
  • Provide summary of results and priorities with peer/leadership team
  • Work with store leaders to set goals and expectations
  • Review business reporting and guest insights to understand, troubleshoot and follow up on opportunity areas
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to make it right for guests
  • Provide new ideas and recommend solutions to business or team opportunities
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn Target’s leadership expectations and seek feedback
  • Participate in internship program training activities, developmental opportunities, and events
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead the team to work in the same way and hold others accountable
  • Carry out principal duties and responsibilities by the department
  • Gain understanding of all business areas to develop business acumen
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with their needs
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to solve their specific needs
  • Thank guests and let them know we are happy they chose to shop at Target
  • All other duties based on business needs
