- Skill in applying and removing orthopedic casts, splints, and braces.

- Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices.
- Educate patients and caregivers on injury care, cast care, and the use of crutches, walkers, and other durable medical equipment.
- Adjust and maintain traction equipment and orthopedic tools.
- Support orthopedic physicians, surgeons, and sports medicine providers during patient care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, radiology, and other departments.
- Perform patient intake and discharge under provider supervision.
- Document patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
- Adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, infection control, and safety guidelines.
- Stay current with organizational policies, electronic medical record workflows, and required training.
- Two years of experience as an Orthopedic Technician and familiarity with durable medical equipment supplies.
