Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Environmental Science Safety, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Safety Management, Business Management, Psychology or similar study
  • 5 + years Safety Management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles will be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) required; ASP/CSP Certification preferred
  • 5-10 years progressively responsible leadership roles within Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews, and job safety analysis
  • Experience with Regional Safety Management programs
Responsibilities
  • Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture
  • Develop and manage corporate safety initiatives for all Central US Regional sites
  • Work with personnel at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the US Central region
  • Provide support to regional field leadership in maintaining awareness of environmental, health & safety issues
  • Maintain accident-prevention and loss mitigation programs for incorporation into operational policies
  • Communicate expectations, goals, standards, and metrics for progress measurement
  • Attend and support required Safety Management meetings with internal and external parties
  • Develop, follow-up, and verify completion of action items based on KPIs
  • Manage Safety training needs in accordance with guidelines
  • Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise throughout the Central US region
  • Manage compliance inspections, audits, and associated tracking
  • Lead investigation of accidents and injuries at region sites
  • Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
  • Review, compile, and submit accident reports required by US Central region partners
  • Work closely with VP Safety & Risk Management and HR in workers' compensation program administration
  • Support Human Resources with drug, alcohol, and medical screening of all employees
  • Additional Responsibilities as identified and assigned
