Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in tax technology or tax related field, with direct exposure to tax software ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara and ERP systems SAP, Oracle.
Responsibilities
  • Configure, implement, and maintain tax technology platforms (e.g., ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara).
  • Assist in integrating tax systems with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle) and other financial systems.
  • Leverage Oracle Cloud ERP, Data Lake/Warehouse data transfers into tax technology solutions to automate tax processes.
  • Assist with Smart View for Excel-based ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows for tax compliance and reporting.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy in tax calculations and filings.
  • Support tax provision and compliance processes through technology-enabled solutions.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Finance, and IT teams to identify process improvements and technology enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide end-user support and training.
  • Document processes, maintain system controls, and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
  • Embed SOX and internal control requirements into all tax technology workflows. Maintain role-based access controls across tax applications, SharePoint documentation and knowledgebases.
  • Build and automate outputs from Tax Depreciation Software into provision workpapers, validating book-tax depreciation differences.
  • Utilize Microsoft CoPilot for research and drafting tasks such as legislative updates, technical memos, audit narratives and BRDs/UAP scripts, leveraging Thomson Reuters Checkpoint content as foundation.
  • Establish prompt libraries and implement quality checks and governance procedures, including data privacy, citation practices and version control for AI-generated artifacts.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as data latency, reconciliation defects, and cycle-time reduction.
  • Publish dashboards and reports for Stakeholders.
  • Elicit and document business requirements from tax stakeholders and translate them into system configurations and integrations.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to support testing, deployment, and post-implementation optimization.
  • Analyze and document end-to-end tax processes to identify automation and efficiency opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with tax software ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara and ERP systems SAP, Oracle.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Alteryx) preferred.
  • Technical skills including strong proficiency in SQL, familiarity with SAS for analytics, Power BI or Alteryx, and advanced abilities in Excel and Smart View.
  • Experience with Data Lake/Warehouse architecture and secure file/API transfers.
  • Understanding of tax compliance processes and regulatory requirements.

GM Financial reports $432M Q2 net income, down from $510M year-over-year

GM Financial reported net income of $432 million for the second quarter of 2026, down from $510 million in the same period last year. For the first half of 2026, net income totalled $946 million, compared to $1.0 billion in the previous year. Retail loan originations reached $10.0 billion in the quarter, up from $8.3 billion in the previous quarter but slightly above the $9.5 billion recorded in Q2 2025. Operating lease originations were $4.1 billion, down from $5.4 billion year-on-year. The company's delinquency rates increased, with accounts 31-60 days past due rising to 2.4% from 2.1% year-on-year. Annualised net charge-offs also climbed to 1.3% of average retail finance receivables from 1.1% in the prior year period.

GM Financial completes first $53M debenture issue in Brazil

GM Financial Brasil has completed its first financial debenture worth R$300 million (approximately $52 million). Crédit Agricole CIB acted as structurer, coordinator and senior investor, whilst VERT partnered on structuring, issuance and management. The debenture marks GM Financial's first floorplan financing issuance in Brazil's capital markets, diversifying funding sources and supporting wholesale operations growth. The issuance is backed by credit rights from these operations. According to Marcio Frazão, CFO of GM Financial Brasil, the operation opens a new alternative for automotive sector financing through securitisation structures. The debenture was structured using receivables as collateral. GM Financial, General Motors' wholly owned financing subsidiary, has operated in Brazil since 1930, offering financing, consortium, insurance and fleet management solutions.
