About the Role

Our Video Team is developing a new product with new hardware to help fleets ensure the safety of their drivers by capturing and recording critical events which may happen in route.  This helps the fleet be proactive about driver training to head off problems down the road.

If you’re excited by the idea of solving complex Android and back end challenges and working with an incredibly talented team - as well as the potential to lead this team - then this is the position for you!

Our engineering teams are classic agile “two pizza teams” of 3-10 developers and SDETs, plus Product Owner and Scrum Master. With Platform Science well-funded and in hyper-growth, our teams need to build, fork and specialize to deliver on that promise. Essential Responsibilities

• Strong communication skills
• A solid portfolio of experience building mobile applications
• Good technical foundation with ability to pick up new skills and adapt quickly
• Strong troubleshooting skills and strong ability solve complex problems
• Desire to learn new technologies while supporting existing ones
• A commitment to software craftsmanship and things like unit testing, code review, design patterns, etc

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Software development
• 4+ years of Kotlin
• 6+ years experience in Android & Java development
• Experience with SQLite DBs
• Experience working with RESTful and/or GQL APIs
• Good knowledge of MVVM, Dependency Injection, Android services, Flows, and Coroutines
• Jetpack Compose experience helpful
• Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and e2e tests for Android apps
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• MDM / MAM experience, particularly Android Enterprise
• Experience building and maintaining mobile SDKs
• Jenkins
• System Architecture Design
• SQL expertise & data analysis skills

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $132,534 and $234,900. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
