Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Execute organic, patient-specific computer-aided design designs using established, documented workflows, with a focus on diagnostic and basic definitive sockets.
  • Prepare and organize digital models for additive manufacturing, ensuring printability and structural integrity according to standard operating procedures.
  • Export computer-aided design files for 3D printing and maintain an organized digital archive of computer-aided design files and design iterations.
  • Capture and process 3D scans of patient models, prosthetic components, and related objects.
  • Convert scan data into editable 3D models and ensure quality and proper alignment.
  • Use mesh editing and sculpting software to optimize scanned data.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of prosthetic socket interfaces according to company quality and quantity standards.
  • Perform assembly of the final prosthesis.
  • Prepare fused deposition modeling, multi jet fusion, and laser powder bed fusion 3D printers for builds and post-process jobs according to existing standard operating procedures.
  • Create, modify, and duplicate plaster models.
  • Fabricate diagnostic and definitive rolled silicone sockets customized to each project.
  • Prepare and assemble prosthetic finger products following existing work instructions.
  • Safely pack and ship orders using appropriate materials.
  • Assist with research and development initiatives as needed.
  • Use existing processes to accurately move projects through the fabrication workflow.
  • Communicate with team members about project design and troubleshooting to ensure design-to-manufacturing integration.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Document work and maintain detailed logs.
  • Monitor job priorities and ensure tasks are completed accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Work under close supervision.
  • Perform other assigned duties or special projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school program in CAD, drafting, art, or a related field is preferred.
  • One year of related experience is preferred.

Hanger acquires Liberating Technologies to advance prosthetic research and development

Hanger, Inc., a leading orthotic and prosthetic patient care provider, has acquired Liberating Technologies, Inc. (LTI), a research organisation founded in 2000 and previously owned by Coapt. LTI's research team has secured numerous government-funded grants since 2008 to develop next-generation technologies for the orthotic and prosthetic field. LTI will join Hanger Ventures and the Hanger Institute for Clinical Research and Education to drive innovation in clinical care. The team will continue current grant-funded initiatives, including advancing voice-recognition technology for prosthesis control and developing socket cooling systems for residual limb skin health. Hanger acquired Coapt, LTI's previous owner, in 2025. With this acquisition, the complete Coapt portfolio now belongs to Hanger, which operates more than 925 clinic locations across the United States.
