Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in group rating, underwriting, actuarial, or a related operational role in the health insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to track rating activities, analyze concessions, and support bid math calculations.
  • Experience with rating methodologies, underwriting principles, and financial analysis related to employer group pricing.
  • Ability to create, manage, and optimize tracking tools and reporting solutions for rating processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to facilitate coordination between Sales, Actuarial, and Underwriting.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, reporting software, and automation solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to group rating, including ERISA and ACA.
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions to improve workflow.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a rating activity tracker to monitor and prioritize rating tasks, ensuring workflow efficiency and structured communication with Sales.
  • Oversee exhibit updates and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial and rating presentations.
  • Conduct concession analysis, tracking trends and providing actionable insights to Sales for pricing adjustments and strategy refinement.
  • Provide bid math analytics to Sales, supporting employer group pricing decisions with relevant data and scenario modeling.
  • Collaborate with Quality & Tools to support automation initiatives, reducing manual reporting and streamlining rating workflows.
  • Ensure structured communication between Group Rating, Underwriting, and Sales to improve transparency and alignment on rating decisions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining training materials to enhance knowledge-sharing and upskill team members in rating methodologies.
  • Support compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA and ACA, by ensuring rating activities align with regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and decision support within Group Rating.
  • Assist with system testing and enhancements for rating automation and reporting tools, working closely with IT and system administrators.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with data tracking, process automation, and reporting tools preferred.
  • Background in sales support, rating methodologies, or health insurance pricing is a plus.
