Requirements
  • A relevant university degree is required.
  • A professional accountancy qualification such as Certified Public Accountant, Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, or equivalent is required.
  • At least five years of post-qualified experience is required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills, is required.
  • Experience reporting and consolidating multi-currency entities is required; experience with Tagetik is desirable.
  • Experience in data modelling and familiarity with business intelligence tools, ideally Power BI, is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Strong partnering skills are required to foster teamwork, collaboration, respect, and best practices.
  • Strong metrics-driven financial planning and analysis skills and a successful track record of developing key performance indicators and processes that meaningfully impact business results and direction are required.

Responsibilities
  • Own sector reporting, data, analysis, and insights.
  • Lead coordination of the monthly sector financial forecasting process with operating company finance teams and Group Finance.
  • Deliver recurring monthly and weekly sector financial reports and commentary, and keep them relevant and impactful.
  • Support the monthly sector staircase process and participate in meetings with the Sector Chief Executive, Sector Chief Financial Officer, and Sector Finance Director.
  • Analyse trends across revenue, cost of sales, expenses, return on capital employed, working capital, and capital expenditure.
  • Work with the Sector Finance Director to identify performance drivers, underlying causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage the ongoing development of budgeting, financial forecasting, analysis, and data-modelling tools.
  • Support half-year and year-end deliverables, including the audit-reporting workpaper, investor-relations questionnaire, and impairment reviews for acquired intangibles and investments.
  • Coordinate annual budgeting and strategy processes, including preparation, review, and portfolio consolidation.
  • Work with the Sector Finance Director and Group Finance to develop financial planning and analysis reporting and technology for Group, Sector, and business units.
  • Support the development, deployment, and monitoring of sector-wide key performance indicators and performance measures.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Tagetik consolidation system through testing and implementation phases.
  • Prepare finance presentations and ad hoc analyses for Sector meetings.
  • Write monthly finance reports.
  • Support the Sector Chief Financial Officer and operating company Finance Directors with oversight and protection of assets and financial integrity.
  • Help ensure operating companies maintain books and records in accordance with International Accounting Standards and Group accounting standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Undertake peer reviews as needed.
  • Support review of valuation memoranda and transaction process materials and provide financial analysis.
  • Participate in or lead financial due diligence and financial integration of acquired businesses as required.
  • Support Finance Directors with bolt-on acquisitions as required.
  • Build relationships with operating companies, particularly new acquisitions, to support rapid integration.
  • Build strong relationships with finance colleagues across the organization, including other Sector Financial Analysts, Operating Company Financial Controllers, Finance Managers, and financial planning and analysis leaders.
  • Support the Sector Chief Financial Officer and Sector Finance Director with induction of new Finance Directors, particularly around reporting and forecasting.
  • Identify improvement initiatives involving systems, processes, or costs that benefit the Sector and its companies.
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI is ideally preferred.
