Position Overview:
The Corporate Controller will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is critical in providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making and drive the company’s financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasts.
- Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs.
- Provide variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Oversee internal and external audits, addressing any findings promptly.
- Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee the company’s treasury functions, including investments and financing strategies.
- Optimize working capital and manage banking relationships.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Coordinate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
- Strategic Financial Management:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for business growth and profitability.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration.
- Project Accounting:
- Ensure accurate and timely project accounting, including tracking and reporting of project costs.
- Oversee Percentage of Completion (PoC) revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Provide financial oversight and support for project managers to optimize project financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of Project Accounting including Percentage of Completion revenue recognition.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
