- Assemble patient trays with appropriate speed, accuracy, and appearance.
- Deliver trays to patients and verify room numbers, bed numbers, birth dates, and patient names to ensure delivery to the correct patient.
- Participate in selected quality-monitoring activities, including taking and recording food, refrigeration, and dish-machine temperatures.
- Assist with the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies, and report malfunctions to management.

Butterworth Hospital campus expansion. In Grand Rapids, Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital's average patient census has exceeded 90% occupancy over the past year, according to the health system. To meet demand, the organization is allocating $1.34 billion to build a 780,000-square-foot facility on the hospital campus. The proposed 11-story tower will include a new emergency department, 180 private patient rooms, 17 operating rooms, and a hyperbaric chamber, the release states. The project site includes existing health system properties located at 230 Michigan Street and 330 Barclay Avenue. "This pioneering investment in our Grand Rapids community is part of our commitment to make health better by providing the latest and greatest resources to meet our patients' future healthcare needs," says Josh Kooistra, DO, president, Corewell Health West Michigan, in a release. The facility consistently operates at more than 90% capacity and manages more than 106,000 emergency department visits annually, the press release reports. The planned Troy tower will feature 180 private patient rooms equipped with medical technologies ranging from general care through intensive care, an emergency department waiting room, and direct parking deck access to the emergency department, according to the health system. "The new hospital tower will help create an extraordinary patient experience at Troy Hospital for patients, families and our team members. Select Medical Corporation and Corewell Health have announced a joint venture to build an 84-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The four-storey facility will be located next to Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital. The new hospital will treat patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries, amputations, and complex orthopaedic conditions. It will feature modern spaces and advanced rehabilitative technology focused on restoring function, mobility, and independence. The partners have worked together since 2017. The new facility will nearly quadruple Troy's current rehabilitation footprint and provide a purpose-built setting for patient recovery. The project is proceeding through regulatory and municipal reviews and is expected to open in 2029.
