Requirements
  • Radiologic Technologist licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must cross train to the scrub position.
  • Must take 3–11, 11–7, weekend, and holiday call.
  • Must respond within 20 minutes of a call-out.
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must lift and carry 50 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must push a stretcher or wheelchair with an average adult patient.
  • Must perform frequent stooping and occasional crouching, crawling, or kneeling.
  • Must reach reasonable distances in any direction and run in emergency situations.
  • Must move fingers in a coordinated manner and perceive temperature, texture, shape, and size with the fingertips.
  • Must work onsite, with physical presence essential.
  • Must have normal or corrected hearing and vision.
  • Must perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must work around human body fluids, disease, infection, laboratory chemicals, and hazardous materials while wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Must use electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and the intranet.
  • Must adhere to DCH Health System policies and procedures and the DCH Behavioral Standards.
Responsibilities
  • Operate radiologic equipment and apply scientific principles of radiologic technology.
  • Use sterile and aseptic technique when assisting with procedure preparation.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, set up sterile trays, cross-train to the scrub role, and assist the physician when needed.
  • Participate in performance improvement teams and measures and implement necessary changes.
  • Perform departmental charging of procedures and supplies.
  • Assist with other assigned duties.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Provide direct patient care, observe patient symptoms and reactions, and take appropriate action when changes occur.
  • Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse patient developments, including cardiac arrest.
  • Attend in-service programs, required training and education, and unit, department, and service meetings.
  • Maintain performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards identified in the performance evaluation.
  • Perform compliance requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Answer the department telephone and work as a member of a group or team.
