- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- BCSP certification as an Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or Construction Health and Safety Technician is required or must be in progress.
- Experience supporting high-risk construction activities, including crane and rigging operations and energy isolation/lockout-tagout, is required.
- The ability to lead safety efforts on large or complex construction projects is required.
- OSHA 500 certification is preferred.
- Lead safety planning and execution in alignment with project leadership and operational goals.
- Partner with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
- Develop, coach, and mentor Safety Coordinators and Senior Safety Coordinators.
- Ensure consistent implementation of Holder safety programs, processes, and expectations.
- Lead the planning, review, and execution of high-risk activities, including crane and rigging, energy isolation and lockout-tagout, critical lifts, and work at height, with emphasis on Serious Injury and Fatality risk identification and mitigation.
- Apply and reinforce Energy-Based Safety principles, including HECA, the energy wheel, and energy control, in planning and field execution.
- Review and provide guidance on critical job hazard analyses, means and methods plans, lift plans, and energy control procedures to ensure effective hazard identification and control strategies.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation, emphasizing systemic gaps and prevention of recurring high-consequence events.
- Support preconstruction and work-planning efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risk before execution, particularly for high-risk and Serious Injury and Fatality-potential activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with project teams, trade partners, and clients.
- Support the staffing, development, and performance of safety personnel.
