Requirements
  • An MBA or postgraduate degree in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification from a premier business school.
  • Six to eight years of experience after qualification.
  • Relevant experience in compensation, with prior consulting experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and deliver rewards benchmarking and design engagements for clients in an identified industry or set of industries.
  • Create industry growth strategies and points of view and generate revenue through new and existing clients.
  • Develop working relationships with client stakeholders and advise them on rewards and benefits.
  • Provide ongoing client support in data interpretation.
  • Review survey data and reports and provide sign-offs.
  • Engage existing and prospective clients to identify opportunities and build sustainable relationships.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Survey Operations, to deliver rewards consulting and products.
  • Drive Mercer’s footprint in the assigned industry, create content, and share points of view with clients.
  • Engage prospective clients independently to identify business-development opportunities.
  • Increase paid participants in the Industry Total Remuneration survey, win projects with new clients, and win new survey participants in the assigned industry.
  • Develop an understanding of rewards trends, establish rewards expertise in the assigned industry, and provide consulting advice based on a point of view on rewards practices.
  • Identify repeat-business and multi-year contract opportunities, maintain communication with existing clients, host client networking events, and share Mercer research.
  • Deliver the revenue budget by industry numbers and product category with a team of industry-aligned consultants.
  • Monitor revenue and sales pipelines against budgets, raise invoices, analyze collections and pipeline data, and guide consultants.
  • Build and manage the client base through retention of annuity clients and acquisition of new clients.
  • Ensure successful project delivery through effective project management and service delivery.
  • Build market insights for clients from existing work.
  • Execute client engagement and thought-leadership activities, including forum partnerships.
  • Prepare recommended solution outlines, review them with the Business Leader, present them to clients, and modify them based on feedback.
  • Ensure communication cascades and query resolution for the assigned industries.
  • Support hiring for open vacancies within the cluster or industry and ensure successful onboarding of new hires.
