Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required
  • Registration: Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred
  • Experience: Requires 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain safe working conditions and procedures
  • Develop personal knowledge of the production process and equipment
  • Develop personal knowledge of quality including ASTM and UL requirements
  • Work in conjunction with other department managers and employees to solve problems and improve plant safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Execute capital and major maintenance projects
  • Recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency
  • Maintain proactive working habits to improve performance of crew and daily operations
  • Develop a detailed technical knowledge of processes and equipment along with the control systems in order to support operations and maintenance
  • Develop personal knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and culture
  • Oversee the milling and calcination operations to ensure sufficient stucco supply for wallboard production
  • Manage long term capital and operations planning for the mine and ore haul departments
  • All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
