Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree in tech, life sciences, the green economy, or a creative industry preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a relevant field such as corporate business development, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry research, project management, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including public speaking
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing needs and opportunities
  • Highly analytical and strategic thinker, with a proven ability to creatively navigate and solve complex challenges
  • Proactive “self-starter” and “team player” who is enterprising and resourceful, organized and results-oriented.
  • Must obtain/maintain New York City residency within 180 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and tracking, and coordinate cross-functional project teams, to ensure objectives are achieved and timelines are met.
  • Support program management including tracking of project milestones, driving program excellence through our operators, and reporting on metrics, impact and financial performance.
  • Support project estimating, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accurate planning and accountability.
  • Support procurement drafting, outreach, due diligence, respondent selection, contracting and underwriting documentation, and supervision of implementation.
  • Conduct research, data gathering and analysis, financial modeling, and expert interviews, to report on industry trends and needs, regulatory challenges, policies, industry dynamics, and news.
  • Draft presentations and memoranda to for key stakeholders including senior EDC staff, City Hall staff, partner agencies, and external partners).
  • Assist with engagement of industry and academic partners, workforce development organizations, and regulatory and public agencies to advance our innovation industries priorities, and attract their expansion in New York.
  • Execute events such as roundtables and advisory board meetings, preparing EDC speakers with background research and talking points.
  • Actively contribute to team building, staff and departmental development.
