Responsibilities
  • Own avionics assembly, integration, and test delivery from component level through vehicle integration.
  • Develop avionics assembly, integration, and test procedures directly from requirements and engineering drawings.
  • Translate design intent into executable build instructions, defining tooling, torque specifications, parts, consumables, work sequences, and verification steps.
  • Define and maintain avionics wiring, harness, and pinout diagrams with correct electrical interfaces and configuration control.
  • Develop and own avionics assembly procedures for components, sub-assemblies, and vehicle-level integration.
  • Create and execute avionics test procedures to validate functionality, interfaces, and readiness before higher-level integration.
  • Ensure avionics assembly, integration, and test activities meet quality, reliability, and safety standards suitable for aerospace and defence environments.
  • Work with avionics design, systems, and vehicle assembly, integration, and test teams to resolve integration issues and close design-for-integration gaps.
  • Identify and ensure availability of tools, fixtures, consumables, and test equipment required for build and integration activities.
  • Enforce process discipline and configuration control to support consistent, repeatable avionics builds.
  • Own avionics-related non-conformance identification, documentation, and resolution, and feed lessons learned into design and process updates.
  • Enable progression from bench-level avionics testing to vehicle-level integration.
Desired Qualifications
  • A background in aerospace avionics manufacturing and assembly is preferred.
  • Automotive electronics experience is acceptable as an alternative background.

Munich-based hypersonic systems startup Hypersonica has emerged from stealth with a €23.3 million Series A funding round led by Plural and a successful test launch. Founded in December 2023, the company is developing Europe's first privately funded hypersonic strike capability. On 3 February, Hypersonica launched a missile prototype from Andøya Space in Norway, reaching speeds exceeding Mach 6 and a range over 300 kilometres. The company completed the vehicle's development in just nine months. The Series A round included participation from Germany's Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation, General Catalyst and 201 Ventures. Hypersonica aims to deliver an initial short-range hypersonic strike capability by 2027 and fully operational hypersonic glide vehicles by 2029, targeting NATO member states' defence requirements.
