Lyric acquires Concert to expand AI-enabled precision medicine payments.

Lyric acquires Concert to expand AI-enabled precision medicine payments. Concert's platform will be integrated into Lyric42 to enhance healthcare payment accuracy for diagnostic and genetic testing. Payment-focused healthcare intelligence platform Lyric announced its acquisition of precision medicine-focused payment technology company Concert to combine Concert's policy intelligence with the Lyric42 platform. Lyric offers health plans tools that analyze policy, data, AI and clinical review after care and before payment to help identify claims that may be incorrect, duplicate or not compliant with a payer's policies. Concert works with health plans, care providers, laboratories and health technology vendors to help manage diagnostic and precision medicine testing. Its platform combines clinical evidence, medical policies, coding standards, and payment rules to allow diagnostic tests, such as genetic and other laboratory tests, to be ordered, reviewed and reimbursed more accurately. The companies, which have had an established partnership since 2023, said the acquisition will merge Concert's precision medicine capabilities with Lyric's AI-enabled decision intelligence platform. "This combination allows us to accelerate our pace of innovation for our clients," Ravi Umarji, Lyric president and CFO, said in a statement. "Concert's ground-up approach to synchronize human- and machine-readable policy will plug into health plan workflows through the Lyric42 platform. This approach fundamentally shifts the model from reactive enforcement at disconnected checkpoints to shared standards, providing transparency and alignment across stakeholders. The combination will benefit our health plan clients, their network providers and the members they serve." THE LARGER TREND Concert and Lyric initially established a partnership in 2023 to combine machine learning models and market data to improve payment accuracy for genetic testing claims. In 2024, the pair expanded their collaboration to focus on laboratory payment accuracy for advanced and routine tests. Last year, Lyric acquired ClaimShark, a payment technology company for health plans. ClaimShark's offerings were integrated into Lyric's platform, resulting in Lyric having an AI/cloud foundation that connects payers to a library of data analytics, pre-pay editing and overpayment detection tools. That same year, Connect partnered with health information network Availity to digitize and automate prior authorizations for genetic testing. A year before, Concert integrated its coding standards and Genetic Testing Unit (GTU) identifier with EviCore's medical policies and authorization guidelines with the aim of improving authorizations and efficiency of molecular and genomic testing for health plans, providers and patients.

Lyric expands Lyric42 platform with intelligent orchestration for healthcare payment decisions

Lyric, a healthcare decision intelligence platform provider, has announced that leading health plans are using advanced orchestration capabilities within its Lyric42 platform to coordinate payment decisions across rules, workflows and payment accuracy products. The intelligent orchestration capabilities help health plans improve payment accuracy by dynamically sequencing and reconciling payment decisions in real time, rather than processing claims through fixed rules. The system draws on policy context, historical outcomes, provider impact and reimbursement risk to generate payment recommendations. Lyric aims to help health plans reduce administrative waste, unnecessary audits and denials whilst lowering costs for both insurers and providers. CEO Halsey Wise said the platform augments human decision-making with better coordination and evidence to enable more confident payment decisions at scale.
