Requirements
  • A track record as a senior operator with direct people-management experience in Business Operations, Strategic Operations, chief-of-staff, strategy-and-operations consulting, or a strong operating leadership role in a high-growth company.
  • Substantive familiarity with payment operations, including know-your-customer processes, risk, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
  • Experience owning or substantially contributing to a SOC 2 program, ideally Type II, sufficient to take over the program without disrupting its cycle.
  • Demonstrable fluency with artificial intelligence tools, including building, automating, or scaling workflows and helping teams adopt them.
  • Ability to scope and prioritize vague operational problems into clear solutions, including SaaS purchases, no-code workflows, artificial intelligence automation, or engineering requests.
  • Strong analytical and structured-thinking ability across profit-and-loss discussions, metrics reviews, and cross-functional problems.
  • Ability to directly manage operational teams while remaining hands-on with strategic work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Alignment with the company's mission, values, and commitment to hybrid work.
Responsibilities
  • Stand up planning cadence, operating rhythms, and business reviews across the company.
  • Run cross-functional initiatives that span teams and require a single accountable owner.
  • Define and instrument operational metrics, including volume, acceptance, chargeback ratio, loss, cost-to-serve, and settlement time.
  • Build the reporting and business intelligence layer that provides leadership with a real-time view of company operations.
  • Own the company's tooling stack, including tool selection, build-versus-buy decisions, and enablement across functions.
  • Champion artificial intelligence adoption by identifying use cases, piloting and rolling out tools, and helping teams build artificial intelligence fluency.
  • Scope cross-functional internal tooling needs and make the case for engineering support by translating operational needs into prioritized requests.
  • Act as the de facto product manager for the internal tooling workstream, translating operational needs into scoped and prioritized engineering asks.
  • Serve as the operating thought partner to the Chief Product Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Oversee the Payment Operations team across know-your-customer processes, risk reviews, chargebacks, stock gift processing, donor-advised funds, designated funds, and reconciliation.
  • Own payment operational health, including processor relationships, settlement, dispute handling, and controls for a regulated payments business.
  • Hire and develop a Payment Operations Manager as the function scales.
  • Partner with Product on operational and donor-facing payment workflows, especially compliance, know-your-customer processes, and recurring flows.
  • Oversee the Tap Operations team responsible for fulfillment, logistics, and delivery of physical Tap giving products.
  • Own Tap operational health, including order processing, supply and vendor relationships, staffing, and quality control.
  • Partner with Partnerships and Success on demand planning and church-facing fulfillment timelines.
  • Take full ownership of the SOC 2 program upon arrival.
  • Manage the auditor relationship, governance-risk-and-compliance tooling, evidence collection, controls operating rhythm, and renewal cycle.
  • Partner with Engineering on technical security controls while owning the surrounding SOC 2 program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience scaling a Series B or Series C software-as-a-service company.
  • Exposure to nonprofit, faith-based, or regulated-payments contexts.
  • A background combining consulting and operating roles.

Overflow helps churches and nonprofits accept and manage donations of non-cash assets like stocks and cryptocurrency, alongside cash gifts, through a subscription-based financial technology platform. Donors can give via multiple channels (card, ACH, stock, crypto, and donor-advised funds), and Overflow processes these gifts while providing automated giving statements, live dashboards, and detailed donor and gift-status tracking. The platform focuses on reducing barriers to giving and offering low processing fees, aiming to stand out with a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for charitable fundraising. Overflow’s goal is to make generosity frictionless and to significantly increase charitable contributions by unlocking and simplifying the use of non-cash wealth, which makes up a large portion of global assets.
