Job Description:
Under general supervision,assistsinthedevelopmentand implementation ofthe I-77safetyprogram;conductworksite safety observationsand incident investigations;support initiatives toeducateand trainemployees about health and safety regulations and precautionstoensure a safe work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participates/assists in the development and implementation of safety programsrelated to Maintenance and Tolling activities, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
Advises the Operations & Maintenance, and ITS staff on safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety ofworkersas regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ANSI, and NFPA.
Conductrisk assessmentstoidentifypotential hazards and assess risks associated with various work activities.
Assigns,developsand deliverstraining to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assistswith ordering necessary safety supplies and equipment (PPE, etc.)
Perform regular andfollow-upinspectionsof facility, equipment, and work practices toidentifyhazards and ensure compliance.
Support response and closure of follow up items and corrective actions.
Investigatesincidents, injuries, and near misses todetermineneeded corrective actions.
Maintainsaccuraterecords ofall training, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Supports management ofemergency situations whichincludethe development and implementation of emergency response plans,provideoversight for annual required drills, andspill response.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Monitors compliancetosafety protocols and requirements for subcontracted work.
Administrator of Learning Management System (KPA)
Associatesdegree;at least 3 years of experiencerelatedto the duties and responsibilities specified.
Prior work experience inconducting safety auditsand hazard assessments.
Working knowledge of the OSHA 1910 General Industry Standard (OSHA 1926 knowledge preferred)

Knowledge of properwaste handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
Knowledge of federal,state,and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.

Ability to multi-task in dynamic environment
A valid driver’s license in good standingand be able to successfully pass a background screening.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Adapttovarioussettings, including office, and variousoutdoor projectlocations.A sizableportionof time will be spentoutdoors on project sites conducting inspections, environmental oversight,and providing safety oversight for worksite job operations.
Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Travel todifferent project jobsitewhich could be physically demanding.
While implementing safetymeasures,you will be exposed to the same hazards you are working to mitigate.The use of PPE will berequiredto minimize these risks:hardhat, safety glasses, safety vests, safety shoes, and gloves.
