Requirements
  • A minimum of eight years of experience provisioning, configuring, and developing solutions in Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse, and Cosmos DB is required.
  • Eight years of experience implementing software development methodologies is required.
  • Eight years of experience working with relational databases, including building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets, is required.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes is required.
  • Experience using source control and management tools such as Azure DevOps and GitLab/GitHub is required.
  • Experience transforming requirements into design concepts and entity-relationship diagrams using Visio and similar tools is required.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience with cloud orchestration and automation tools and creating continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Java, or JSON is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws is required.
  • Knowledge of common software development life cycle models, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, is required.
  • Knowledge of non-relational database designs using MongoDB and other technologies is required.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server is required.
  • Fluency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python is required.
  • Knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big-data stores is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement reliable and effective data solutions based on business requirements.
  • Maintain process design artifacts such as data flow diagrams, end-user process maps, and technical design documents.
  • Find trends in data sets and develop algorithms to make raw data more useful.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture that meets security standards.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements by automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Develop best practices for database design and development activities.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, and services to support the Data Services team.
  • Ensure all data solutions meet company and performance requirements.
  • Work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Conduct code reviews.
  • Direct and mentor some Level I and Level II engineers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in key business projects.
  • Recommend improvements to existing Data Services processes as necessary.
  • Provide detailed analysis of data issues, data mapping, and processes for automation and enhancement of data quality.
  • Analyze and integrate new technologies with existing applications to improve application design and functionality.
  • Maintain proficient programming skills in REST web services, C#.NET, T-SQL, XML, JSON, and other relevant languages or frameworks.
  • Develop and automate solutions to consume data from multiple data sources, including external APIs.
  • Program and modify code in Java, JSON, Python, and Spark to support and implement data warehouse solutions.
  • Design and deploy enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Research, analyze, recommend, and select technical approaches for difficult development and integration problems.
  • Work closely with the Data and Engineering teams to design Azure implementations.
  • Communicate regularly with management, colleagues, and domain units.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with HL7 and FHIR is a plus.
