Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • Basic engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work.
  • Ability to interpret experimental results, identify trends in data, and troubleshoot experimental issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure the precision of experiments.
  • Ability to convey research findings and collaborate with team members.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and scientific software.
  • Ability to coordinate experiments with colleagues, participate in team discussions, and support team goals.
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, as required by Texas Executive Order No. GA-48.
  • Ability to provide identity and authorization-to-work documents for United States employment eligibility verification.
  • A criminal history background check is required for finalists.
Responsibilities
  • Review medical records.
  • Conduct screenings for study recruitment.
  • Execute data collection procedures and assessments.
  • Assist with subject recruitment.
  • Analyze research data using statistical software and tools.
  • Interpret results and prepare reports for review by senior researchers.
  • Assist in preparing research publications and presentations.
  • Assist with manuscripts and publications by drafting sections, reviewing content, and ensuring adherence to publication guidelines.
  • Help manage subjects, including phone calls and general coordination to schedule patients for study visits and follow-ups, and reimbursement.
  • Work closely with Principal Investigators, clinicians, and other research staff to facilitate study operations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
  • Perform administrative and coordinating tasks pertaining to study management.
  • Work closely with research staff to coordinate experiments and share findings.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on research progress.
  • Communicate with external collaborators and stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing research protocols.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines.
  • Assist with Institutional Review Board submission and management by preparing documentation, coordinating with Institutional Review Board representatives, and ensuring timely submission and approval.
  • Provide training and guidance to new research staff and interns.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Provide data and information to support grant submissions.
  • Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with projects involving human subject research.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with REDCap.
