As a Pricing Analyst V, you will play a pivotal role in determining labor, material, travel, and overhead costs for complex government and commercial contracts. You will be responsible for analyzing RFP data, developing cost models, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations such as the FAR, DFARS, and CAS. In this role, you will work on complex pricing challenges, providing innovative solutions to support proposal teams and senior management. With your expert knowledge of pricing strategies and contract types, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver accurate and compliant cost estimates that align with the company’s strategic goals.
The proposed salary range for this position is $119,000-$178,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITES
- Determine labor, material, travel, and overhead costs for proposals, based on RFP (Request for Proposal) data provided by potential clients. Analyze specifications, production requirements, and historical data to produce accurate cost estimates.
- Collect cost data from internal functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors. Compute cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontracted work.
- Create and maintain cost models for various estimating elements, ensuring they reflect current market and industry conditions.
- Develop and maintain a repository of historical cost data for future reference and benchmarking.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, presenting findings to management, proposal teams, contract personnel, auditors, and customer representatives.
- Provide expert-level pricing guidance to proposal and capture teams to ensure alignment with company strategy and client disclosure statements.
- Prepare and present to corporate leadership cost strategy and scenario options for proposals that demonstrate alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
- Stay current with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other relevant regulations, ensuring that all pricing activities meet compliance standards.
- Collaborate with customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure pricing accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Lead and facilitate pricing reviews, providing clear recommendations and solutions for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a key technical expert on all pricing issues.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS

- Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 10–12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience. (Relevant experience must be in pricing, finance, or a related field, and include pricing proposals on RFPs released from Department of Defense (DoD) customers.)
- Demonstrated expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and various contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), and Time and Materials (T&M).
- Advanced skills in applying pricing concepts and managing complex cost estimates for diverse clients, including those in the federal and Department of Defense (DoD) sectors.
- Recognized for the ability to work on complex technical pricing issues, creating innovative solutions and determining effective courses of action.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to present findings and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in cost-estimating tools, software applications, and MS Office Suite. Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business or Finance-related field.
- Working knowledge of Unanet and Microsoft Excel.
