Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in engineering, computer science, business administration, finance, management, or any related field, as well as military experience.
  • Understanding of contract and Department of Defense operations and processes.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a contracting business and a minimum of five years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Experience conducting both internal and external/client negotiations.
Responsibilities
  • Serves on the RITA leadership team and assists the RITA UARC Executive Director, PIs, staff, consortium faculty members, business processes, Department of Defense, Department of Air Force, Air Force Research Lab, and other federal government units.
  • Oversees the management of intellectual property arising from research activities, including patent filing and licensing agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and ethical standards for research and product development.
  • Guided the translation of research findings into viable products or services, working closely with product development teams.
  • Work in collaboration with RITA leadership in establishing and maintaining partnerships with academic, industry, and government entities to enhance research capabilities and opportunities.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Set team and individual goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Leadership training such as decision-making, corporate governance, change management, negotiation, strategic leadership, and business analysis would be preferred.
