Requirements
- Proven track record of success in a design leadership role, with at least 3 years of experience building and scaling design teams
- Expertise in and across modern design disciplines, including research, UX/UI, visual design, and interaction design
- Strong design aesthetic that can accommodate and adjust to hundreds of different client needs
- Extensive experience with design tools, such as Figma, UserTesting, and Miro, along with a solid understanding of how to use them in design and product activities such as identifying value, defining hypotheses, researching context, and measuring experiments
- Track record of launching impactful products from concept to delivery
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance hands-on work with long-term vision and planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
- A passion for staying at the forefront of design trends, technologies, and industry advancements
- Experience setting KPIs and using data to define design success to leadership teams
- Deep knowledge of responsive techniques and the digital and device landscape
- Entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, actively participating in design projects to drive innovation and maintain a deep understanding of our products, clients, and shoppers
- Mentor and guide a team of designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence
- Develop and execute a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with our business goals and enhances our brand identity
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, such as Sales, Styling, Operations, as well as our Product Management and Engineering Delivery teams, to ensure seamless integration of design across all shopper touchpoints
- Assess resource needs and structure the design team to meet current and future demands, focusing on hiring, onboarding, and developing top talent
- Establish and implement “best-in-class” human-centered design processes, methodologies, and tools that optimize efficiency and enable scalable growth
- Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external design partners, agencies, and contractors to supplement internal capabilities when necessary
