Responsibilities
  • Conduct student interviews to assess student needs and interests
  • Coordinate with the Gate team to assess student readiness for field
  • Review and approve placement proposals and accompanying documentation
  • Facilitate inter- and intra-departmental communication about each proposal
  • Manage student and department concerns and troubleshoot problems
  • Research potential resources and recruit community agencies for student field placements
  • Negotiate individual contracts with each agency
  • Maintain frequent contact and perform site visits with agencies
  • Interpret and implement policies and procedures related to field enrollment
  • Represent the department at various internal and external community functions
  • Provide trainings on field education policies and practices
  • Administer the process for submission of proposals utilizing CORE field placement software and Canvas Learning Management System
  • Communicate with other LU departments and assist Field Coordinators and Directors of Field Education
