Florida Tech Aviation runs the university’s aviation program. It provides ground school classes and hands-on flight instruction through its FIT Aviation subsidiary, using Florida Tech aircraft and instructors to manage all university aviation operations. How it works: Students enroll in flight courses, complete ground school, and receive flight training from faculty pilots. The program combines classroom learning with real-world flying experiences on campus, supported by the university’s facilities and resources. How it differs from competitors: The program is campus-based and connected to Florida Tech, offering aviation education with university credentials, access to campus facilities, and potential research and academic integration that standalone flight schools may not provide. Goal: Prepare students to become licensed pilots and aviation professionals by delivering structured, on-campus aviation education through a university-backed program.
