Jupiter Medical Center nationally recognized for excellence in stroke care.

Jupiter Medical Center nationally recognized for excellence in stroke care. American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines(R)- Stroke Gold Plus award highlights continued investment in advanced stroke technology, specialists, and coordinated care teams July 21, 2026 - Jupiter Medical Center is pleased to announce it has received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines(R)- Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for the eighth consecutive year. The Gold level designation is awarded to hospitals that have maintained high standards of care for 24 months, while the Plus is granted to hospitals that have achieved a 75 percent or higher compliance in specific quality markers, including timeliness of care and patient education. The recognition affirms the independent, not-for-profit's consistent adherence to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. Stroke is the No. 4 cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S., according to the American Heart Association's 2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics Report. A stroke happens when a blood vessel supplying the brain is blocked by a clot or ruptures, preventing blood and oxygen from reaching brain tissue. Because those cells are lost quickly, early detection and rapid treatment are essential for survival, recovery, and the prevention of long-term disability. "Earning this recognition for the eighth consecutive year reflects steadfast commitment to stroke care at every level of our organization," said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. "Our investments in technology, specialists, and coordinated care systems help ensure our community has access to advanced stroke treatment when the minutes matter most." As the first Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center in the region, Jupiter Medical Center meets the strictest standards for the most advanced stroke interventions. It was also one of the first hospitals in the area to adopt Viz.ai, an AI-powered platform that analyzes medical imaging in real time and can alert stroke specialists in as little as 29 seconds - speeding up diagnosis and treatment of stroke, which is vital to saving lives and reducing disability. "When it comes to stroke, time is brain," said Wayne Olan, MD, Neuro Interventional Radiologist and Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Jupiter Medical Center. "By combining rapid detection tools, experienced specialists, and thrombectomy capabilities, our team can mobilize quickly when every minute matters." Get With The Guidelines - Stroke is an in-hospital program that improves stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest research- and evidence-based guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death. Each year, participating hospitals qualify by demonstrating their commitment to quality stroke care. In addition to following treatment guidelines, participants educate patients - using tools such as B.E. F.A.S.T. to recognize stroke warning signs - to help them manage their health and recovery at home. In addition to the Gold Plus award, Jupiter Medical Center also received the Target: Stroke(SM) Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes(TM) Honor Roll awards from the American Heart Association. Jupiter Medical Center named a top U.S. Hospital for Orthopedic Surgery by Money Magazine. National recognition reflects continued investment in advanced orthopedic care Jupiter, FL - June 4, 2026 - Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) has once again been recognized as one of the best hospitals in the nation for orthopedic surgery by Money Magazine, marking the second time the health system has earned a spot on the publication's prestigious Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery list. The national recognition places Jupiter Medical Center among hospitals nationwide acknowledged for strong orthopedic outcomes, patient safety, and overall quality of care. JMC is the only hospital in South Florida to achieve this prestigious accolade from Money Magazine. Money Magazine, a trusted source for consumer rankings since 1972, developed its Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery list in partnership with Denniston Data and Definitive Healthcare. Hospitals were evaluated using Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data and ranked across five weighted categories, including mortality, patient safety, readmissions, patient experience, and timely and effective care. "This national recognition reinforces our long-standing commitment to delivering world-class orthopedic care close to home," said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. "It reflects the extraordinary expertise of our orthopedic surgeons, the dedication of our care teams, and our continued investments in advanced facilities, technologies, and partnerships designed to improve patient outcomes and recovery." In recent years, JMC's orthopedic program has achieved Blue Distinction Center+ designation for knee and hip replacement, earned multiple Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval(R) certifications for hip, knee, shoulder replacement and spine surgery, and been recognized among America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement by Healthgrades. The program has also been recognized by Becker's Healthcare as a "Great Orthopedic Program." Earlier this year, JMC's orthopedic excellence was further strengthened by its announcement that it is now collaborating with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), the world leader in orthopedic care. This partnership brings nationally recognized expertise and best practices across a full spectrum, including joint replacement, sports medicine, spine surgery, and rehabilitation for patients in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. Additionally, these clinical achievements are supported by significant investments in facilities, including the opening of Jupiter Medical Center's new Tim and Jayne Donahue Patient Care Tower, which features two dedicated orthopedic floors, each with its own dedicated rehabilitation gym, designed to enhance surgical recovery, patient comfort, and care efficiency. Jupiter Medical Center expands orthopedic innovation with MISHA(R) Knee System.

Jupiter Medical Center expands orthopedic innovation with MISHA(R) Knee System. JMC is first in Florida to offer minimally invasive implant for medial knee osteoarthritis Jupiter, FL - February 25, 2026 - Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) announced today that it has completed its first implantation of the MISHA(R) Knee System, the first implantable shock absorber (ISA) designed to reduce load on the knee joint, relieve pain, preserve function, and potentially delay the need for total knee replacement surgery. The procedure was performed by Marc Matarazzo, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. This milestone introduces to the region a technology recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), offering a new treatment option for patients with mild to moderate medial knee osteoarthritis who have exhausted conservative therapies but are not yet candidates for joint replacement. "I'm truly honored to have performed the first MISHA(TM) Knee System implantation in the state of Florida," said Dr. Matarazzo. "This technology represents a major advancement in treating patients suffering from medial knee osteoarthritis, and our commitment to offering state-of-the-art orthopedic solutions and alternatives to joint replacement." The MISHA Knee System is implanted on the medial side, inner aspect of the knee during a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. As a tissue-sparing ISA, it requires no bone cutting and preserves the articulating cartilage surfaces of the knee, maintaining options for future treatment. It is placed under the skin, outside the joint itself, and acts as a shock absorber, reducing peak knee forces by over 30 percent. The procedure does not impose restrictions on weight-bearing or on returning to activity after surgery. "Being the first in Florida to offer this FDA-approved technology underscores our commitment to ensure patients in our region have access to the most advanced treatment options, without needing to leave their community for care," said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. "This milestone reflects our long-term investments in innovation, access, and exceptional clinical outcomes." Through physician expertise, continued investment in advanced orthopedic technologies, and significant campus expansion, including the new Tim and Jayne Donahue Patient Care Tower with two dedicated floors for inpatient orthopedic care and rehabilitation, Jupiter Medical Center is advancing a comprehensive, integrated approach to musculoskeletal care. These collective investments further strengthen its position as the region's leading destination for orthopedic and rehabilitative services. JMC's commitment to high-quality orthopedic care has consistently earned significant national recognition, including being named Money's "Best Orthopedic Hospitals" and earning U.S. News & World Report's "High Performing" ratings in hip fracture, hip replacement, and knee replacement. Additionally, JMC's orthopedic program has achieved four highly sought-after distinctions: Blue Distinction Center+ for Knee & Hip Replacement; and The Joint Commission certifications for Hip and Knee Replacement, Shoulder Replacement, and Spine Surgery.
