Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience with a public accounting firm
  • Minimum of two years of financial industry experience related to Internal Audit processes and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices, procedures, and principles
  • Broker-Dealer/Registered Investment Advisor and/or Asset Management experience highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational processes
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Internal Controls function and concepts, including SOX 404 and COSO frameworks, focusing on IT General Controls
  • Work closely with internal clients including Compliance, Legal, Operations, Finance, Security, and Technology teams in developing documentation of key processes and controls
  • Participate in the development and implementation of risk assessments and documentation of user entity controls for third parties’ SOC reports
  • Participate in SOX walkthroughs and assess the implementation of new controls
  • Develop test plans and coordinate the performance of an internal controls testing program
  • Continually monitor and update the assessment of the control environment
  • Assist in the preparation of testing results to the Audit Committee and Enterprise Risk Committee
  • Prepare and update a comprehensive risk-based testing plan for evaluating the effectiveness of controls
  • Assist in the continuous process improvement of internal business processes at the firm
