Position Summary:

• Teaching Assistant should attend classes and provide weekly office hours to students.

• Teaching Assistant will assist in set up, implementation and grading of exams and assignments.

• Teaching Assistant will be responsible to help create and review the online presentations.

​Qualifications:

• Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program within the Department of Human Genetics, or in another graduate program at McGill University, for the Winter 2026 term.

• Extensive knowledge of Human Genetics and its surrounding area.

• Previous experience with HGEN 400 course is an asset.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising undergraduate students.

• Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective communication skills in English are essential. French is an asset.

Instructions to the Candidate:

• Make sure you apply either internal or external candidate, based on your current status in at McGill and/or Workday system.

• However, if your current active position/contract with McGill is ending soon, it is best to apply as an external candidate as your access to Workday might be restricted due to contract termination.

All candidates should complete the questionnaire and upload relevant documents such as:

• a copy of the McGill proof of enrollment letter for Winter 2026.

• Updated CV including any previous TA experience in the Department of Human Genetics or within McGill University.

• If you are an International Student, you must hold a valid study permit covering TA contract period. Please attach a copy of your study permit.
