Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
  • A strong technical background is required.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the activities of the Quality Control Laboratory, including training and supervising all laboratory personnel and relieving all laboratory job functions.
  • Work with customers to resolve issues and complaints regarding cement quality or delivery of the final product.
  • Generate mill tests, letters of certification, and bonding documentation for quarry acreage.
  • Generate the plant daily material report and maintain quality records.
  • Investigate and report accidents involving employees and equipment, promote and enforce safe working practices and good housekeeping, and maintain laboratory equipment in working order.
  • Oversee proper mix changes, department scheduling, and adherence to Internal Quality Objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement and related plant policies, and promote cost and profit consciousness among employees.
  • Perform analysis, testing, and preparation of special reports as assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Compile the annual budget for the Laboratory.
  • Work with State Departments of Transportation for cement approval and with federal agencies to certify laboratory procedures and equipment.
