Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Quality Control, Technology Education, Career and Technical Education, or a closely related discipline.
  • Two years of relevant work experience for the discipline.
  • One year (2,000 hours) of related work experience must be within the past five years.
  • Two years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five years may be substituted for the one year of related work experience within the past five years.
  • The completion of an apprenticeship with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards OR with a federally registered program.
  • A signed letter from a representative of an appropriate and authorized apprenticeship advisory committee.
  • Seven years or 14,000 hours of related work experience.
  • If no Associate's degree, expectation to obtain an Associate's degree within three years of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate.
  • Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during and after courses and services with an emphasis on evaluating student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
  • Participate in instructional and curriculum articulation activities with other programs and other divisions of instruction.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
  • Work closely with the College’s Business and Industry Services division to support the training needs of business partners and/or clients.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Comply with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attend division, department and advisory committee meetings.
  • Develop and implement strategies aimed at the retention of students of color, female students, English Language Learners (ELL), and students with disabilities.
  • Participate in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college’s mission, vision and values.
