Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Social Work, Community Outreach, Public Administration, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in program coordination, disaster recovery, or community outreach
  • Familiarity with community resources for disaster-affected populations and local knowledge of Los Angeles
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in diverse, trauma-affected communities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility in dynamic environments
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with client management software.
Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in identifying their resource needs and navigating available community services, resources and support services, empowering them to navigate systems effectively.
  • Develop and navigate an up-to-date directory of local, state, and federal resources, ensuring clients are referred to appropriate services.
  • Work closely with case managers and other stakeholders to coordinate services and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Act as an advocate for clients in need, helping them access resources such as housing, food security, and health services.
  • Help plan canvassing efforts and create a list of potential locations and events where the team can share resources and provide support to affected communities.
  • Support the organization and implementation of disaster recovery events, particularly those targeting marginalized groups in need of recovery assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish or Armenian is a plus.
