Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one year of resident care experience is required.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide is required.
  • Certification as a Certified Medication Aide is required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the elderly population are required.
  • The associate must be able to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
  • The associate must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and use proper body mechanics.
Responsibilities
  • Provide resident care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, as outlined in each resident’s care plan.
  • Adhere to schedules and document attendance properly.
  • Maintain the safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality of residents.
  • Encourage and escort residents to meals and activities when needed.
  • Ensure assigned residents are clean, neatly dressed, groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shifts.
  • Document all services provided in the ALIS electronic health record for assigned residents during the shift.
  • Monitor and immediately report changes in a resident’s condition to a supervisor.
  • Use and secure electronic documentation devices appropriately within the community and document care and services provided during the shift.
  • Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
  • Provide basic housekeeping and laundry services when needed.
  • Obtain residents’ weights and vital signs when requested by a registered nurse and document them.
  • Perform and oversee staffing scheduling.
  • Assist with phone calls to families, physicians, and others as needed.
  • Schedule resident appointments as directed by nursing staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, registered nurse, or executive director.
  • Lift and support residents as required.
