Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience in an educational or administrative setting are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize the work area, handle frequent interruptions, multitask, and work with minimal direction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Workday, and databases.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, support systems such as Blackboard and Zoom, and other educational technology.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement processes and policies supporting the operational needs of all nursing academic programs, including alignment of curriculum, program requirements, and operational logistics.
  • Monitor and align administrative operations across academic programs, identify workflow and communication improvements, and support program goals.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with program directors, faculty, and administrative partners and resolve operational and administrative issues.
  • Apply knowledge of academic programs, policies, and administrative processes to provide flexible support and continuity across program areas.
  • Supervise education department coordinators and allocate administrative support based on workload and operational priorities.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, cross-training, and administrative coverage for staff supporting the School of Nursing.
  • Facilitate implementation of institutional policies and procedural changes and ensure consistent execution by department coordinators.
  • Approve payroll records and manage annual performance evaluations for assigned staff with input from program directors.
  • Coordinate administrative support for education committees, subcommittees, task forces, special events, and departmental initiatives.
  • Plan and support academic events and educational activities involving students from multiple programs.
  • Oversee instructional space, supplies, equipment, and other program resources; identify cost-effective operational improvements.
  • Serve as the purchasing card manager for department coordinators and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Provide operational support for special projects, events, staffing changes, and periods of increased demand.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and program leadership on policies, procedures, and best practices for Blackboard, Heliocampus, SLATE, and other academic technologies.
  • Facilitate course-delivery support, including classroom and guest scheduling, syllabus and curriculum management, procurement of course materials and textbooks, and adherence to academic timelines.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology staff to troubleshoot Blackboard and other academic technology issues for faculty and students.
  • Support annual new faculty orientation and provide resources, systems, and information needed for teaching responsibilities.
  • Coordinate support for School of Nursing standing committees, including meeting materials, voting logistics, meeting attendance, minutes, follow-up actions, records, elections, and archival requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reference materials, procedures, and training resources for committee and administrative practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the School of Nursing's education mission.
