Engineering Technician
Key Role:
Support Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certification activities for naval ships. Conduct visual inspections of shipboard topside equipment to determine the physical condition of the installed bonding and grounding measures, status of EMC fix installations, or repair or installation of bonding and grounding measures, including bolts or bond straps, and fix kits. Document results in templated status reports. This position will include embarking on Naval ships.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with testing, evaluation, or investigation of military or commercial Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems or components relative to Radio Frequency (RF) engineering, EMC, or Electromagnetic Interference
Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word or Excel
Ability to execute manual labor, including replacement of bolts or bonding straps
Ability to conduct visual inspections of system conditions aboard naval ships, including systems in hard-to-reach locations such as antennas on the mast of the ship
Ability to travel within both CONUS and OCONUS
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with military electronics or electrical systems
Experience operating RF test equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers or Field Fox
Welding Certification in Stick - Shielded Metal ARC Welding (SMAW), MIG- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), TIG- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), or Gas Welding and Oxyacetylene Welding
Completion of Electronics or Electronic Technology Trade School
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
