  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience in a successful data organization with 5+ years of people management experience to build, grow and manage multiple teams and managers
  • Hands on experience to architect and build complex data platform and products, and within-depth knowledge on numerous cloud-based computing services, data warehouses and tools like GCP, AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, Prefect, dbt, Tableau and Looker
  • A track record of influencing and delivering initatives with company-level impact and priority
  • Forward thinking mindset to define team's mission, vision and long term strategies
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems; versatility and willingness to learn new technologies on the job
  • Partner and build strong relationships with internal customers, partners and business stakeholders. Be proactive to understand their pain points, priorities and risks in order to identify business and product opportunities. Guide your teams to define products roadmap, design and build optimal data platforms and product solutions
  • Lead the discussions and influence decision of cross functional initiatives on data platform, data tools, data governance, data catalog, cross-domain data sharing, etc. Influence and define roadmaps. Ensure technical designs are properly evaluated
  • Work with managers and other senior leads to define team mission, vision, long term goals and data strategies. Evaluate the next generation of data technologies and help Block in adoptions
  • Grow and scale your teams. Recruit great talents, provide mentorship, and coach your direct reports and skip levels. Work on their career development and progression plans. Write-up performance feedback, and resolve performance issues
  • Partner with external vendors on addressing performance issues, system deficiencies, technical challenges, new feature developments, contract negotiations and renewal
