OVERVIEW
Design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support lean manufacturing/lead time reduction activities within the focus factory. Support short range focus factory capacity planning.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
- Utilize tools such as value stream mapping and simulation software to locate waste in a process and create current, future and ideal states.
- Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote safe and efficient staff and facility utilization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering for entire duration of internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Junior level status
- GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
