Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all crew members provide customers with effective personal contact and deliver the B.E.S.T. customer service experience.
  • Train crew members on customer service and ensure fast and friendly checkout experiences.
  • Lead the assigned store to achieve and maintain customer service score goals provided by the District Manager.
  • Lead front-end operations and ensure that front-end merchandising meets or exceeds brand standards.
  • Ensure that front-end equipment is operational and that associates are trained on applicable services.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, maintain store cleanliness and recovery, and keep the store ready for customers.
  • Perform store manager duties in the store manager's absence.
  • Partner with the store manager to recruit, train, coach, develop, and supervise crew members.
  • Review corporate communications and respond accordingly.
  • Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
  • Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.

Five Below opens Martinsville store.

Five Below opens Martinsville store. By Jessica Dillon Five Below has opened its new Martinsville location at the Village of Martinsville, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 24 and a weekend of giveaways, promotions and trivia for shoppers. The national retailer offers a variety of products, many priced at $5 or less, while also carrying select higher-priced items. District Manager Crystal Bass said the store has received an enthusiastic response from the community. "I think we're going to bring a lot of fun traffic to the shopping center," Bass said. "Everybody was super pumped up. And we opened on Tuesday, and it's been going ever since." Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce President and Executive Director Brenell Thomas welcomed the retailer to the community. "It's a big deal for Martinsville to be here. So when we talk about this crowd, just, and the amount of folks that are still coming in, they're streaming in, we know about all of the promotions that they're doing," Thomas said. Thomas said the new store gives residents another affordable shopping option close to home. "We always talk about what we don't have in Martinsville, but let's celebrate the things that we do. So this is an affordable place. I'm seeing back-to-school stuff," Thomas said. She said the store offers merchandise that previously required residents to travel or shop online. "Just a lot of the fun things that people were going out of town for now and they can get it right here at home," Thomas said. "Where we thought we might have to order online or travel to go get it, Five Below is bringing some of those oddities right here, and at an affordable price." Thomas said she had already found several items she planned to purchase, including books and a fan. Five Below is located at 240 W. Commonwealth Blvd. The store is open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Five Below opens its 2,000th store in LaGrange. Five Below is now open in LaGrange, marking a major milestone for the national retailer as the location becomes the company's 2,000th store. The City Menus previously reported that Five Below was preparing to open in the area. The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the store's grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Five Below offers a variety of value-priced products, including games, tech accessories, room décor, beauty items, snacks and seasonal merchandise. Five Below appoints Rodney Lastinger as chief retail officer and Christos Yatrakis as chief legal officer

Five Below has appointed Rodney Lastinger as Chief Retail Officer and Christos Yatrakis as Chief Legal Officer. Lastinger joined on 22 June, whilst Yatrakis started on 15 June. Both executives report to Chief Operating Officer Kenneth Bull. Lastinger brings extensive retail operations experience, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at GNC, where he oversaw more than 2,200 stores. He previously spent 18 years at Target Corporation, rising to Senior Vice President, Stores. He will lead operations across Five Below's nearly 2,000 stores. Yatrakis, who has over 20 years of legal experience, most recently served as Chief People & Legal Officer at Allbirds. He will oversee Five Below's legal function and corporate governance.

Five Below has appointed Robert Lynch as an independent director to its board, effective immediately, expanding the board to nine members. Lynch is currently chief executive officer of Shake Shack, a position he has held since May 2024. Lynch brings extensive experience leading multi-unit consumer businesses. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Papa John's International and held senior positions at Arby's Restaurant Group, Taco Bell, H.J. Heinz Company and Procter & Gamble. He also served on Kontoor Brands' board from March 2021 to April 2026. Five Below, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Philadelphia, operates over 1,900 stores across 46 states, offering products primarily priced between $1 and $5.
