  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years proven experience building software across the stack (mobile, platform, data pipelining and ML) in product engineering
  • A minimum of 7 years of management experience leading software engineering teams
  • Experience leveraging optimization or machine learning in successful products
  • Master’s degree in AI, ML, Data Science or a PhD in EE or CS
  • Experience working with consumer facing products
  • Experience with optimization and applied machine learning and the ability to think about statistical modeling problems and what the right formulations are
  • Experience building scalable backend systems
Responsibilities
  • Lead the team responsible for driver pricing & matching. The role spans backend systems for pricing, offer generation, offer payments, ML models and algorithms, as well as the mobile/front-end surfaces for driver comprehension
  • Build the long term vision and tech for driver pricing
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science, Products, and Ops to drive and shape the technical direction, both in terms of systems and modeling frameworks
  • Strategize and influence the product vision and roadmap in collaboration with the product and business team
  • Build trust and foster a collaborative team culture and help grow the respective leaders in each of the focus areas
  • Build a strong eng brand for driver pricing and be able to attract and retain talent
  • Have an excellent executive presence to communicate the team’s vision/plan effectively and represent the engineering organization and POV in the overall Marketplace business group
  • Translate the strategic roadmap into a practical execution plan with quarterly OKR’s
  • Build an influential culture of engineering excellence maintaining the balance and right tradeoff for building products for speed and tech debt
  • Set up processes to handle ad hoc support requests from customers, sales, and make sure the general execution cycle is not disturbed
  • Develop an operational model to achieve operational excellence for Product metrics and Engineering metrics
