  • 10+ years in solutions architecture, technical strategy, technical consulting, or engineering leadership, working directly with enterprise clients on complex, multi-workstream technology engagements.
  • 5+ years owning the technical relationship with senior client stakeholders (CTO, CIO, CDO, VP-level and their direct reports) within large accounts.
  • Track record of shaping the multi-year technology direction of a major account and directly influencing seven-figure-plus engagements through the quality of your technical strategy and solution vision.
  • Proven ability to grow enterprise accounts through technical strategy and solution expansion, by anticipating client needs and building a business case for expansion.
  • Experience inside a consulting, systems integration, or professional services environment, with understanding of utilization, scoping, commercial models, and designing solutions suited to the client and deliverables.
  • Experience at the intersection of traditional enterprise technology and AI, including architecting systems with AI components, advising on AI roadmaps, or building delivery approaches for AI-integrated solutions.
  • Working understanding of AI and agentic system concepts, including the difference between rules-based automation and an LLM-powered agent, retrieval-augmented generation and orchestration patterns, and the ability to explain these to a Chief Technology Officer.
  • Deep hands-on background in enterprise solution design, including cloud platforms, distributed systems, SaaS, API and integration architecture (REST, webhooks, event-driven patterns), and modern data infrastructure.
  • Fluency across the marketing technology and customer experience landscape, including content management systems, digital experience platforms, personalization engines, customer data platforms, marketing automation, and related enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience managing or influencing delivery teams to ensure solution quality, even without direct reporting lines, and maintaining design intent from proposal through production.
  • Strong communication ability to present a solution vision to C-suite audiences and to engineering teams with the specificity needed for build.
  • Soft skills with senior client stakeholders, executive presence, and ability to guide decisions while ensuring client buy-in.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous client needs into clear implementation plans and drive execution against timelines while preserving strategic intent.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, high ownership mentality, and a builder’s mindset focused on creating repeatable processes and frameworks.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end technical strategy, solution architecture, and commercial growth for a flagship enterprise account, designing solutions that integrate platform, data, and AI capability from the start.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner to CIOs, CTOs, IT directors, and marketing technology leaders, demonstrating how agentic systems and AI-native architecture change possibilities and mapping a path to implementation.
  • Combine hands-on solution design with consultative strategy, account growth, and organizational influence to shape broader practice approaches to technical strategy and AI-first delivery.
  • Define engagement scope, success criteria, and solution direction with client IT directors, enterprise architects, marketing technology leaders, and business stakeholders, explicitly considering AI-driven scope changes.
  • Lead technical discovery and design sessions that consider agentic automation, model-driven personalization, and intelligent orchestration as part of the architecture; identify risks and dependencies and align expectations with Perficient’s delivery capabilities.
  • Own the architecture vision across concurrent engagements, designing for integration of marketing technology platforms (Adobe, Sitecore, Optimizely), CX systems, data and personalization infrastructure, AI capability, and enterprise integration architecture as a coherent whole.
  • Design and present solution architectures for platform implementations and migrations, system integrations, data unification and personalization, and AI-driven automation, ensuring intelligence placement and evolution over time.
  • Evaluate and recommend across Perficient’s partner ecosystem and beyond, selecting the right platform choices (e.g., Salesforce, Sitecore) based on the problem; pressure-test designs for scale and avoid technical debt.
  • Embed AI-native capability into every engagement, starting with agentic systems, intelligent automation, and modern AI architectures, identifying concrete AI applications, and integrating AI capability into core architecture from the start.
  • Help clients build the business case for AI investment by linking technical capability to operational outcomes such as cost reduction, speed to market, personalization at scale, and shift to automated engagement.
  • Co-own the account commercial trajectory, shaping the growth plan with technical strategy and solution vision as primary drivers, identifying new opportunities and building the case for expanded work.
  • Quantify and communicate value in terms that resonate with CFOs and CMOs, including operational efficiency, time to market, cost of ownership, and revenue impact, and define outcomes-based delivery for the account.
  • Protect delivery quality by ensuring proposed designs align with what gets built, and build repeatable delivery patterns for AI-integrated engagements, including scoping, testing, outcomes measurement, and hand-off to client teams.
  • Mentor and elevate junior architects and delivery leads, sharing learnings and turning approaches into reusable frameworks for the broader team.
  • Extend technical perspective beyond the account to influence Perficient’s approach to other enterprise relationships, contribute to proposals and solution reviews, and shape the practice’s go-to-market positioning.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, automotive, or retail at the enterprise level.
  • Hands-on experience building with or around large language models, agentic orchestration frameworks (LangChain, custom agent pipelines), or AI-native architecture design in a consulting or delivery context.
  • Prior experience in a strategic-account or named-account model where you were the primary technical leader for a single large client relationship.
  • Experience contributing to practice development, including methodology creation, team hiring, or capability building inside a growing organization.
  • Familiarity with outcomes-based or value-based commercial models in a professional services context.
