Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience within the transportation industry, or the equivalent of 8 years supervisory experience in the transportation industry.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of DOT, FDA, and OSHA, CSA compliance
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with executive leadership, staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Evidence of strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to make sound business-based decisions.
  • Evidence of ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (Navisphere, Agile, etc) is highly desired.
Responsibilities
  • Work with all locations to identify issues and concerns with carrier service levels as well as own truck delivery efficiency.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that increase efficiencies of the department that meet or exceed customer expectations, resulting in high customer service ratings.
  • Manage the monitoring of driver routes, stops, and deliveries and ensure that all required logs are accurate and completed on time.
  • Collaborate with all departments to drive improvements against key metrics.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and procedures that ensure high-performing vehicles and equipment while maintaining adequate coverage for deliveries.
  • Ensure training for drivers at all locations are within industry best practices, Land N Sea policies, and DOT regulations.
  • Keep up with the latest in transportation techniques and operating methods.
  • Coordinate with current partner carriers to ensure proper service levels as well as identify new partners who can/will improve service to customers.
  • Use Geotab reports to help drive safety improvements with teams at individual facilities.
