Requirements
  • Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatrics.
  • Applicants must be eligible for or currently hold Washington and Oregon nursing or medical licenses.
  • Recent pediatric newborn experience and skills in neonatal resuscitation following current Neonatal Resuscitation Program guidelines, as well as proficiency in managing ill newborns, are required.
  • Applicants should have excellent communication and leadership skills and enjoy working collaboratively with families and other healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care coverage primarily at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and at a neonatal care center in Vancouver, Washington.
  • Provide comprehensive care to neonatology patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in faculty meetings at the division and department levels.
  • Aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and department through day-to-day activities and ongoing strategic planning.
  • Participate in scholarly activity, which may include educating learners, research, grant-supported work, academic papers, and presentations related to the faculty member’s field of expertise.
  • Participate in clinical research as needed, often with research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.
  • Provide clinical education to fellows, residents, medical students, and nurse practitioner students participating in newborn care rotations.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback and evaluations of learners working in neonatology.
  • Serve on OHSU committees and participate in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head in furtherance of institutional goals.
