Requirements
  • Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatrics.
  • Must be eligible for or currently hold Washington and Oregon medical licenses.
  • Recent pediatric newborn experience and skills in neonatal resuscitation following current Neonatal Resuscitation Program guidelines are required, along with proficiency in managing ill newborns.
  • Must have communication and leadership skills and be able to work collaboratively with families and other healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
  • Provide services assigned by the division head in support of the university’s teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service missions.
  • Provide primary clinical care at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and at a neonatal care center in Vancouver, Washington, with possible coverage at affiliated or partner hospitals.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to neonatology patients.
  • Participate in faculty meetings at the division and department levels.
  • Aid the division head and department chair in providing day-to-day direction and ongoing strategic planning for the division and department.
  • Participate in scholarly activity, including learner education, clinical research, grant-supported work, academic papers, and presentations related to the field.
  • Partner with providers, department or division research support staff, and senior faculty investigators on research activities.
  • Provide clinical education to fellows, residents, medical students, and nurse practitioner students participating in newborn care rotations.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback and evaluations to learners working in neonatology.
  • Serve on OHSU committees and participate in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head.
