Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing engineering, or production tooling is required.
  • Experience designing tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, or assembly aids for aerospace or complex manufacturing environments is required.
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Siemens NX is required.
  • Experience creating and reviewing 3D computer-aided design models and assemblies is required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft assembly, structural installation, manufacturing processes, and production tooling is required.
  • Experience validating digital models, scan data, or point cloud data is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and improve production tooling, assembly jigs, fixtures, gauges, and installation aids.
  • Support aircraft assembly, structural installation, systems installation, and final assembly operations.
  • Create and validate tooling designs using CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Siemens NX.
  • Review and validate 3D models, digital scan data, and point cloud data to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers performing 3D scanning of tooling and production assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement tooling improvements that increase quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support engineering changes, manufacturing planning, and production rate increases.
  • Lead or support First Article Inspections, Material Review Board activities, Root Cause Corrective Actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, and liaison teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Train production teams on tooling best practices and support ongoing process improvements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting military aircraft programs such as F-16, F/A-18, F-22, F-35, or C-130.
  • Experience with aircraft production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supporting First Article Inspections, Material Review Board activities, Root Cause Corrective Actions, and engineering change activities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning, work instructions, and production process improvements.
  • Experience using 3D scanning technologies and digital inspection methods.
  • Experience implementing automation, digital engineering tools, or artificial-intelligence-enabled engineering solutions.
