Halliburton beats Q1 expectations with $5.71B revenue as lab adds three early-stage energy tech partners

Halliburton reported quarterly revenue of $5.71 billion, up 3.7% year-on-year, with both sales and earnings per share exceeding analyst expectations. The results were driven by stronger drilling activity and demand for efficiency-focused oilfield technologies. The company also expanded Halliburton Labs' collaborative ecosystem by adding three early-stage companies: Electroflow, Osmoses, and SiTration. These partnerships focus on battery materials, resource recovery, and gas separations. The strong earnings support Halliburton's existing investment narrative but do not materially change core drivers. The company's narrative projects $24.7 billion revenue and $2.6 billion earnings by 2029. However, risks remain from potential shifts in decarbonisation policies and capital moving away from fossil fuels. The most bearish analysts forecast only 1% annual revenue growth to roughly $23.1 billion.

CASE STUDY: one ERP supporting every stage of operational growth. August 3, 2026 EnergyNow Media "Discovery's accounting module really meets our operational needs and the reporting functionality provides valuable insights." - Randy Martin l Director Of Finance Customer spotlight. PCM Artificial Lift Solutions, a leader with over 85 years of expertise, delivers advanced Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP) solutions across more than 35 countries. Their dedication to excellence is evident in their comprehensive control over every aspect of their PCP systems - from research and development to manufacturing, distribution, and service. PCM's holistic approach ensures that their artificial lift systems are adaptable to a wide range of conditions and applications, including light and heavy oil production, thermal oil recovery, and gas well dewatering. Their solutions are designed for both onshore and offshore use, providing exceptional performance and reliability in diverse operational environments. With a focus on innovation and quality, PCM's experienced team delivers tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of their clients, ensuring optimal well performance and customer satisfaction. PCM Artificial Lift Solutions continues to set the standard in the industry, proving their commitment to keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently. History with Discovery Solutions. While PCM itself hasn't been a direct customer of Discovery Solutions for two decades, our partnership spans nearly that long through a series of key acquisitions. It all began with Europump, a Discovery customer later acquired by Halliburton. When PCM took over Halliburton's Progressing Cavity Pump Business Line, they continued to leverage Discovery's software, seamlessly integrating it into their growing operations. Throughout this long-standing partnership, which initially began in 2006, Europump, Halliburton and PCM have utilized the DMS ERP software to support their operations through multiple stages of significant growth. Below is a brief summary of highlights: Initial implementation. Discovery's platform was first implemented to streamline accounting and manufacturing processes, with a focus on improving operational efficiency. The decision to adopt DMS ERP was driven by its unique industry-specific capabilities, which other software providers did not offer. Discovery's in-house implementation team worked closely with management to ensure a seamless transition from their previous system. This integration introduced key features like fixed asset tracking and automated depreciation, which significantly enhanced efficiency from the start. Scaling operations. In recent years, PCM has significantly expanded its operations within Canada. Noteworthy milestones include: * 2014: PCM acquired Amik Oilfield Equipment & Rentals, including branches in Lloydminster, Bonnyville, and Edmonton, Alberta. Since then, PCM has opened two additional branches in Macklin, Saskatchewan, and Slave Lake, Alberta. * 2019: PCM successfully acquired Cougar Machine Ltd and Cougar Wellhead Services Inc. * 2020: PCM further expanded by acquiring Europump and Halliburton Energy Services' Progressing Cavity Pump Business Line. Challenge. As PCM expanded its footprint, headcount, and overall operations, they needed DMS ERP to scale accordingly to maintain operational efficiency. After detailed discussions with the dedicated team at Discovery Solutions, PCM identified several additional features and functionalities they required, including unlimited corporate entities, multiple currencies, labor and consumables tracking, in-depth management reporting, and real-time inventory management. Solution. DMS ERP's scalable architecture and comprehensive features made it the ideal solution to meet PCM's evolving needs. Discovery prides themselves on constant innovation to meet the growing needs of companies such as PCM. As a result, PCM will soon begin integrating Discovery's latest web-based, real-time data solutions, including the Field Service and recently upgraded Manufacturing OPS modules. These modules are the perfect solution to address PCM's growing pains as they offer enhanced automation, realtime monitoring, and an advanced user interface to optimize field service and shop floor operations. Additionally, key features like fixed asset tracking, automated depreciation, serial tracking for inventory and work orders, and robust revenue and cost of goods reporting have been essential in supporting PCM's operational needs and ensures seamless data analysis and enhanced traceability across their business. Customer feedback. PCM values Discovery's ability to deliver customized experiences, enabling each user to navigate the system through personalized tiles tailored to their specific roles and responsibilities. Aron Halter, Production & Supply Chain Manager at PCM, shared, "Discovery is user-friendly and easy to train new users," highlighting how intuitive the system is for onboarding new employees, which has been crucial as PCM continues to grow. The company also appreciates Discovery's robust automated reporting capabilities given it provides instant access to critical data across all areas of their business. This feature enables users to receive detailed reports daily without manual generation, allowing them to concentrate on strategic growth initiatives instead of data management. None of which would be possible without an integrated accounting module, as Randy Martin, the Director of Finance at PCM explains: "Discovery's accounting module really meets our operational needs and the reporting functionality provides valuable insights." This feedback underscores the importance of DMS's financial capabilities in supporting their business processes as they continue to evolve. Future plans. Looking ahead, PCM is dedicated to fully integrating Discovery's advanced solutions across their expanding operations. One of their key objectives is to bring their subsidiaries onto DMS ERP to ensure seamless integration and consistent operational standards. PCM aims to leverage Discovery's tools to further improve efficiency, gain deeper business insights, and support sustainable growth. By utilizing features such as real-time inventory tracking and advanced serial tracking for inventory and work orders, PCM is well-positioned to meet both current and future challenges. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, PCM is set to maintain its leadership position in the oil and gas industry.

Beetaloo Energy partners with Halliburton to develop natural gas plant for proposed data center in Australia - report.

Beetaloo Energy partners with Halliburton to develop natural gas plant for proposed data center in Australia - report. Up to 2GW of natural gas generation is planned for the site July 30, 2026 Australian oil and gas company Beetaloo Energy and US energy services provider Halliburton have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a gas power plant and data center in Australia's Northern Territory. As part of the agreement, Halliburton will provide technical expertise to assess and develop gas resources for Beetaloo Digital, a report from Reuters said. Beetaloo Digital was launched earlier this month and is expected to be the primary developer of a dedicated natural gas power solution for a proposed data center located on a 185-hectare site at Weddell, close to Darwin. Halliburton is expected to provide expertise in field development, drilling, project execution and scalable gas-fired power generation. The Weddell project is expected to be based on gas resources in the Beetaloo Basin. The development of the project is predicated on the success of concept studies, partner agreements, financing, and regulatory approvals. According to Beetaloo CEO Alex Underwood, the deal is part of a broader strategy to bring together a coalition of specialist partners across gas supply, power generation, pipelines, and data center development. Earlier reports suggest up to 2GW of on-site gas-powered power generation is planned on the site, with the potential for AU$40 billion (US$28bn) to be invested. At least four large-scale data center buildings are planned, according to renderings. The site is near the government's proposed Darwin Energy Hub. The hub aims to host up to 210MW of solar capacity and battery storage on 940 acres. Beetalo Energy is an ASX-listed upstream gas company focused on gas resources in the Beetaloo Basin in Australia's Northern Territory. The firm owns millions of acres in the Northern Territory and is targeting commercial gas production this year. Halliburton has signed several deals in the data center space over recent years. Most notably, it partnered with modular power solutions provider VoltaGrid to develop and deploy distributed power generation systems for the global data center sector. More in australasia.
