OneBlood is a not-for-profit community organization that collects, tests, processes and distributes blood to more than 200 hospital partners across a wide service area in Florida and parts of Georgia and Alabama. It ensures safe, available and affordable blood supply to patients in Tampa Bay, Central Florida, South and Southeast Florida, Pensacola, Tallahassee and bordering regions. The system works by gathering donated blood, screening and processing it, storing it, and distributing it to partner hospitals as needed. Unlike many for-profit blood suppliers, OneBlood operates as a community asset driven by mission rather than profit, coordinating a large regional network to maintain a reliable blood supply. Its goal is to save lives by maintaining a steady flow of safe blood to hospitals and patients who need transfusions.
