Under general supervision, responsible for providing phlebotomy services for the phlebotomy team.
Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

- Ability to apply standard safety and infection control procedures.
- Ability to recognize emergencies and respond appropriately.
- Highly organized and detailed oriented in documenting information while practicing good follow-through techniques.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret data or related information.
- Properly identifies patient according to policy, draws blood samples, labels specimens and sends to laboratory for analysis.
- Maintains records of tests performed and samples taken.
- Generates patient collection lists and labels, ensures the correct test are collected by using inquiry mode, verifying collection of all specimens, and labels STATS with stickers.
- Checks collection batches and overdue lists frequently and ensures that all orders are promptly collected.
- Performs special tests to include clotting time, bleeding time and glucose tolerance tests as needed and reports results.
- Inventories supplies, equipment and requisitions as needed.
- Stocks workstation with necessary supplies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
