Requirements
  • Ideally at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in the data field
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Scala is a plus
  • Experience with data processing technologies like DBT, Spark, Kafka
  • Experience with distributed data systems: Datalakes (Trino, Iceberg), SQL and No-SQL databases, Cloud storage (e.g. GCS / S3)
  • Used to work in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, Azure,...)
  • Familiar with the concepts of microservice architecture. Prior experience with deploying containers on a platform like Kubernetes or Nomad and its ecosystem is a big plus
  • Proficiency with version control Git
  • Interest in machine learning and data analytics
  • A strong team player, willing to share knowledge with other team members and help out where needed;
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented
  • Focused on code quality and code efficiency with a taste for automation
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.
Responsibilities
  • Your mission will be to support the team in building data pipelines, batch and real time ingestion
  • Convergence and Rationalisation of Platform (VPTech <=> Media)
  • Responsible of code delivery and quality: Documentation, Testing, Code Review, CI/CD
  • Infrastructure provisioning and management
  • Automation and monitoring of process execution and quality
  • Solution architecture in order to answer to volumes and SLA constraints
  • Keep improving your technical knowledge and expertise by taking part to the Veepee data engineering community, attending conferences, contributing to open-source projects, organizing and attending meetups

Veepee runs a members-only online platform for flash sales of branded products, including fashion, accessories, home goods, and travel. Members sign up to access limited-time offers, with inventory sourced by partnering with brands to sell overstock or past-season items. The platform earns a commission on sales and has expanded into travel deals and a second-hand marketplace called Re-turn. Unlike many retailers, Veepee relies on exclusive, time-limited sales to create urgency and partners with brands to provide a channel for clearing excess stock without diluting brand image. The goal is to connect brands with value-seeking consumers through targeted, time-bound events while growing the member base and expanding category coverage.
