Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • An Engineer-in-Training certification is required; Professional Engineer licensure is preferred or the candidate should be on track to obtain it.
  • At least 5 years of experience with exposure to site design and land development projects is required.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office is required.
  • A strong understanding of grading, drainage, and local permitting processes is required.
  • Strong technical communication skills and attention to detail are required.
  • A commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed civil engineering design for land development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design.
  • Support site feasibility studies, due diligence, and zoning and code compliance reviews for development projects.
  • Prepare and review design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and engineering reports.
  • Assist with permitting and approvals by coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies and responding to agency comments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, planners, and survey teams to move projects from concept through construction.
  • Track project progress, manage deliverables, and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Participate in client, contractor, and municipal meetings and document key decisions and follow-up actions.
  • Provide construction support by reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information, and conducting site visits as needed.
  • Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, budgets, and progress tracking within internal systems.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities focused on advancing in land development engineering.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection permitting processes and coordination is preferred.
  • Experience with HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling software is preferred.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS is a plus.
