  • A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, or a related field is required.
  • At least 8 years of editorial experience in educational publishing is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing large, multidimensional projects, complex workflows, and interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing contractors, budgets, workflows, and timelines is required.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments are required.
  • Excellent organizational, management, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • Proficiency with project management and software development tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence is required.
  • Experience with content management systems, digital asset management systems, and related integrated workflows is required.
  • Experience integrating artificial intelligence tools with publishing workflows to streamline processes and build efficiencies is required.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the editorial and publishing process is required.
  • Knowledge of print and digital media processes is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of copyeditors, content engineers, proofreaders, and rights and permissions specialists in a fast-paced publishing environment.
  • Manage contract work, including sourcing, budgets, contracts, and invoicing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate internal and external resources and establish workflows, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Participate in Scaled Agile Framework planning and all related ceremonies.
  • Actively track progress, surface issues, and collaboratively develop solutions for all active projects.
  • Stay current on accessibility and technical requirements to ensure materials meet customer needs and technical specifications.
  • Manage reprint corrections and online change documents, coordinating with Curriculum, Design, Production, and Content Engineering teams, as well as external vendors and printers.
  • Ensure staff are trained on new technologies, including artificial intelligence tools and software, to improve efficiency.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), is a plus.
