Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Technology, Finance, Data, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of overall experience, including significant experience in large-scale financial services, investment management, asset servicing, data, or technology transformation programmes.
  • At least 8 years leading cross-functional delivery, testing, or data workstreams in client-facing environments.
  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to operate at Assistant Vice President to Vice President level while influencing senior delivery, technology, data, business, and client stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex testing programmes within financial services, investment management, asset servicing, or platform implementation environments.
  • Strong understanding of buy-side operating models and the end-to-end investment lifecycle, including portfolio construction, order generation, trading, compliance, trade capture, settlement, accounting, reconciliation, performance, reporting, and client or regulatory data consumption.
  • Strong understanding of front-, middle-, and back-office workflows, data flows, data models, interface patterns, and integration dependencies.
  • Practical understanding of extract, transform, load tools, data transformation methods, file formats, data mapping, data lineage, data quality controls, and reconciliation approaches.
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution management with strategic oversight where data readiness, interface stability, or downstream consumption are critical to implementation success.
  • Experience with end-to-end test execution and delivery management across complex platform implementations.
  • Strong project and programme management capabilities, including dependency management, milestone planning, issue escalation, and change control.
  • Data-focused testing leadership across extract, transform, load processes, data transformation, file ingestion, outbound extracts, reconciliations, data marts, reports, and interfaces.
  • Understanding of data tools and delivery mechanisms used across investment platforms, including extract, transform, load tooling, data warehouses, data marts, batch processing, application programming interfaces, Secure File Transfer Protocol, vendor feeds, and automated comparison tools.
  • Familiarity with common investment data formats and exchange methods, including comma-separated values, Extensible Markup Language, fixed-width files, standard loadable formats, and structured interface specifications.
  • Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping, data dictionaries, transformation rules, data lineage, validation logic, and data quality controls.
  • Experience testing investment lifecycle workflows across front-office, middle-office, back-office, and data platforms.
  • Defect governance and risk-based decision-making, including triage of data defects, reconciliation breaks, transformation errors, and downstream reporting issues.
  • Experience working in agile and hybrid delivery models, with practical use of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to lead globally distributed teams and vendors.
  • Executive-level communication and reporting, including data readiness, test execution progress, defect trends, delivery risks, and mitigation actions.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with Implementation Test Leads to manage end-to-end test execution for assigned Alpha implementations and align testing with programme milestones and delivery objectives.
  • Own and govern test strategy, test approach, detailed test planning and scheduling, execution across test phases, defect management, triage, resolution governance, status reporting, risk management, and executive communications.
  • Provide project management oversight for testing workstreams, including dependency management, issue escalation, and change control.
  • Act as the primary testing execution interface with Implementation Leads, the PMO, business stakeholders, and technology partners.
  • Partner with the System Performance team to plan, execute, and integrate performance testing into overall test cycles.
  • Partner with the Automation team to drive adoption and execution of automation strategies, ensuring coverage, reusability, and alignment with implementation timelines.
  • Ensure consistent application of testing standards, governance, and best practices across implementations.
  • Oversee execution across global, multi-vendor, and multi-location teams, ensuring clear accountability and delivery discipline.
  • Provide transparent, data-driven test reporting to senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Alpha testing delivery model, including execution frameworks, metrics, and tooling.
  • Support client engagements by setting testing expectations, execution plans, and success criteria.
  • Lead and govern data-focused testing across Alpha implementations, validating data flows across front-, middle-, and back-office platforms, the Alpha Data Platform, external data providers, market data vendors, client systems, and downstream consumers.
  • Define and manage testing for extract, transform, load processes, data transformation logic, file ingestion, outbound extracts, application-programming-interface-enabled flows, data marts, reports, reconciliations, and interface controls.
  • Ensure test coverage for security master, market and reference data, pricing, holdings, positions, transactions, benchmarks, environmental, social and governance data, performance, attribution, cash, corporate actions, and client-specific data requirements.
  • Oversee validation of file-based and system-to-system integrations, including comma-separated values, Extensible Markup Language, fixed-width, Secure File Transfer Protocol-delivered files, standard loadable formats, vendor feeds, client-provided files, and other structured data exchanges.
  • Work with business analysts, data architects, implementation teams, and technology partners to review data mapping, transformation rules, source-to-target definitions, data dictionaries, interface specifications, and test evidence.
  • Ensure data quality, completeness, timeliness, accuracy, reconciliation breaks, exception handling, and downstream consumption risks are identified, tracked, and reported through appropriate governance forums.
  • Partner with buy-side client stakeholders, investment operations teams, and asset management subject-matter experts to ensure test scenarios reflect investment lifecycle workflows and operating model requirements.
  • Provide data-driven test reporting to senior leadership on data readiness, interface stability, reconciliation outcomes, defect trends, dependency risks, and mitigation actions.

State Street IM makes largest u.s.-listed ETF launch. State Street Investment Management announced the launch of the State Street(R) SPDR(R) UC Investments 90/10 Endowment Strategy Index ETF ("UCBG"), a new asset allocation ETF developed in collaboration with UC Investments ("UC"), the investment arm of the University of California and the index provider for the fund. The launch is backed by a $2.5 billion investment from UC, making it the largest ever U.S.-listed ETF launch.[1] The fund seeks to track the UC Investments 90/10 Endowment Strategy Index, which combines broad U.S. equity exposure with short-duration investment-grade corporate bond exposure. The index allocates 90% of its weight to the S&P 500(R) Index, representing large-cap U.S. equities, and 10% to the S&P U.S. Investment Grade Corporate Bond 1-3 Year Index, which includes U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade corporate bonds with maturities between one and three years. UC and S&P Dow Jones Indices developed the custom index, which was inspired by UC's $7.9 billion Blue and Gold Endowment Pool, a long-term public markets strategy that since its inception seven years ago, has been the best performing product within UC's $236 billion investment portfolio.[2] The strategy reflects UC's conviction that low-cost, liquid, diversified public markets exposure can deliver compelling long-term returns while avoiding the complexity and illiquidity of traditional endowment models. By bringing this philosophy into an ETF wrapper, UCBG offers long-term investors access to UC's approach, which was previously available only within the institution's portfolio and directly to employees of its 10 campuses and six medical centers through its retirement savings program, the nation's second-largest public defined contribution program, behind only the federal government.
